HERO: The Musical

Starting June 20, Erich will star as the title character in Hero: A New Musical at the Marriott Theatre in Lincolnshire, IL.

This world premier musical, written by Aaron Thielen and Michael Mahler, tells the story of aspiring comic book artist Hero Batowski who works in his family’s comic book shop, and still lives at home with his dad. A long-ago tragedy left Hero unable to move on with his life. When a series of unexpected events occur, Hero must decide whether he is ready to finally face his fears and get his life on track.

How Sweet It Is

Erich will star opposite in Joe Piscopo, Erika Christensen, and Paul Sorvino, in his feature film debut, How Sweet It Is.

Directed by Brian Herzlinger, the film tells the story of Jack Cosmo, an alcoholic theater owner who needs a strong showing for his musical’s opening night to dig himself out of debt with the mob. The mob boss insists that his friends get roles in the musical, which complicates things somewhat.

The film, produced by Suzanne Delaurentiis Productions, is scheduled for a late 2012 release.

Joey Dakota

Erich has been cast as Paul Bender in the new CW Pilot, Joey Dakota.

Joey Dakota is about a documentary filmmaker who travels back in time to meet and fall in love with her documentary subject, Joey Dakota, a rock star who died mysteriously in the ‘90’s. When she is unexpectedly brought back to the present, she tries to find a way to get back to the past and prevent her love’s death.

The pilot is written by Bert V. Royal, and Directed by Allan Arkush. Along with Erich, the pilot stars Amber Stevens, Craig Horner, Leah Renee, Brooklyn Sudano and Scott Wolf. Mark Harmon, Martha Haight, and Eric and Kim Tannenbaum serve as Executive Producers.

Erich Bergen rings in the season with A Holiday Party, a swinging, upbeat kick-off to the end of the year festivities, at The Coterie at the Hollywood Renaissance Hotel, on Monday, December 5 at 8pm. Featuring music direction by American Idol’s Michael Orland, A Holiday Party will include many holiday favorites, new tunes, and plenty of joy and laughter. This one night only event will also include a special guest appearance by television’s own Lindsay Pearce! Erich Bergen’s Holiday Party is a benefit for Toys for Tots. Patrons who bring a new, unwrapped toy to The Coterie on December 5 will gain admission to the showroom with no cover charge.

A Snow White Christmas

From November 27 through December 18, Erich will be appearing as The Prince in A Snow White Christmas, at the El Portal Theatre in North Hollywood. This production will be an updated version of the classic tale, presented in the style of the traditional British family Panto, a modern musical play based on fairytale stories. A panto is known for bringing together families with its interactive style and humor that appeals to fairytale fans of all ages.

Erich joins a cast that includes Lindsay Pearce (Glee), Marina Sirtis (Star Trek), and Neil Patrick Harris (How I Met Your Mother).

Celebrate Civil Rights in NYC!

Erich will once again perform in the annual Broadway Stands Up For Freedom concert, presented by the New York Civil Liberties Union. The concert, benefits the youth programs at the NYCLU, will also feature Nikki M. James and Andrew Rannells from The Book Of Mormon, Tony & Emmy Nominee John Tartaglia, the cast of Baby It’s You, writer/director Moises Kaufman, Daphne Rubin-Vega, Liana Stampur, Clinton Curtis, Kate Ferber, and many more.
